pThe New Baltimore Fire District responded to a reported charter bus vs tractor trailer accident. The accident occurred on November 9th at 0315 am in the northbound lane at mile marker 127.2. First arriving units found a tractor trailer vs bus with people standing on the roof of the bus. The impact of the crash crushed the front stair area of the bus and sent the trailer portion of the truck through the guard rails in the median. The jaws of life were used to gain entrance on the bus. The Incident Management System was implemented with mutual aid from fire and ems agencies. All 44 people on the bus and the two people in the tractor trailer were moved to triage and those with injury were transported to local hospitals. Click pictures to view additional images.p
